About Bhutan
Bhutan is a small land-locked nation located at the end of eastern Himalayan region in south asia, which has boarder to the north by China and to the east, west and south by India. It is a Buddist country with a population of just around 7,50,000 people. Bhutan is known for its monasteries, fortresess (Dzong) and dramatic landscape that range from subtropical forest in the south to subalpine forest and snowy mountains and Valleys in the North. It has a rich culture that has remained intact because of its self-imposed isolation from the rest of the world until 1960s. Bhutan is also known by the name “The Land of Thunder Dragon”.
